Things I’d really love to have…

Gift Certificates

  • Cineplex Odeon
  • Chapters
  • iTunes
  • Prints Galore (to get some framing done)
  • IKEA (I need more bookshelves, and a glass door to protect LegoGrievous from the cat!)
  • Money or gift certificate for a year of laser hair removal (preferably somewhere close-ish to my area of Edmonton, or in St. Albert, because I'm not driving to the south side or anywhere else far.)
  • Donate money to the Edmonton Humane Society
  • Donate money to National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative
  • Donate money to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton

  • I've been looking for a high-quality, realistic, fully posable artist mannequin for a long time.  (The blocky wooden ones you often see are awful.)  These two are the most fantastic ones on the market, both from Asia, but they're hard to get a hold of:
    • 1/6 Synthetic Human by 1000Toys.  Seriously amazing.  Unfortunately they're also not easy to come by.  They only sell them via limited pre-order releases, so the best way to get one is to watch their Facebook page or Twitter and be quick to jump on it when they announce a new pre-order.  You can also occasionally find one on eBay (but will be more expensive.)
    • SFBT-3 posable doll / artist mannequin by Dolk.  Also amazing -- little less realistic but even more posable.  They also only do pre-orders for very limited amounts every now and then.  They announce upcoming pre-orders on the product page or here on the main website, typically closer to the end of the month, and timing is crucial because last time they sold out in less than two minutes!
  • General Grievous fully-articulated sixth scale figure by Sideshow Collectibles.
  • Hufflepuff scarf.  (Same design as the HP movies, but no Hufflepuff logo please.)
  • Some of those good doohickey rolly things Dad put on his kitchen chairs to make them slide along the floor really well. I need enough to do four chairs.
  • A good color laser printer. (I hate inkjets, they're just awful.) Must-have features: color printing, duplex (double-sided) printing, combination scanner/photocopier, and compatible with both Mac and PC.
  • Doctor Who replica sonic screwdriver (Tenth Doctor) -- can be bought at ThinkGeek.
  • Second monitor that can connect to a mid-2011 iMac.  (Mine died on me last year and I've been single-monitoring it ever since.)  Nothing too big, around 17" is good.  Bought second-hand is fine.
  • More of those good dish scrubby cloths.

  • Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer (I still need Cress and Winter)
  • Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor
  • Where the Wild Things Were by William Stolzenburg
  • Earth in Mind by David W. Orr

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Nine graphic novels -- volume 5 and onwards
  • Saga, volume 5 graphic novel by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples
  • Nimona graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novel trilogies:
    • The Promise
    • The Search
    • The Rift
    • Smoke and Shadow
  • Alternatively, I'd also be happy to receive pretty much any book/comic from my "to-read" list as well -- which you can view right here.
