It always seems to sneak up on me every year. There's not even much of an in-between as far as I can ever see: one day the trees are full and the leaves are green; then I go outside the next morning and all of a sudden realize that the leaves have all turned colors and are conspicuously no longer up on the tree where they should be. It's like "green... green... green... OMG BROWN! RED! YELLOOOOOOOW!" *Summer flails pathetically where it's been shoved off in the corner for another year.* It's a lot harder to wake up in the morning when it's still dark outside. A lot colder too. *Murffle*

A happy update on Toby -- he's all better! :D He's back to his old self: very hyper and eating like a greedy little pig, and now with a newfound love for pineapple juice~ He's pretty ecstatic these past few days at the new toy we gave him, and by toy I mean an empty Kokanee 12-pack beer box, it's like the greatest thing since romaine lettuce to that kid.

I bought my costume for Halloween finally -- after trying on a couple ones before that sadly didn't fit very well, I settled on a fun 20's glam girl type deal:

I think it's cute. Coleen has offered to help me curl my hair since curling irons and myself have never been properly introduced before, and I'd like to avoid the chaos that ensued when I used my hair straightener for the first time. I'm trying to convince Mason to check out some mafia boss costumes, I think we'd be a good pair~

I am experiencing what might be a rekindling of my love for anime. We found a site that offers practically every series you could ever want to watch in free streaming video, full seasons and episodes -- it's made of rainbows and sunshine and awesome, and right there at my fingertips when ever I want. I've begun watching Wolf's Rain again because I never actually managed to finish the series last time and would like to see how it finally ends. XD Last weekend I also watched the first episode of The Clone Wars, the new animates SW series; which wasn't bad because Asajj has the potential to be pretty badass, but she's no Grievous, which the episode distinctly lacked any amount in. He's supposed to be in episode 2 though so the badass-iness hasn't been forgotten, simply delayed. Preview of the badass-ness here.

I finished watching season 2 of Prison Break. I liked the new Mahone character this season, he's got that scruffy, frazzled, pill-popping thing going on for him; and he flip flops from being a giant dick to being really lovable. Poor guy, all he wants is to run off with his ex-wife and kid and now he's stuck in Panama federal prison and will probably be raped by some giant brute named Adolfo. *Hugs*

WHOA, okay and I went from wanting to punch Kellerman in the face in the first season to really loving him the second season. Where was this whole transition that I never noticed at the time from Paul Kellerman being an arrogant, annoying douche -- to Paul Kellerman in a hot black suit looking sexy with a semi-automatic sniper rifle? Yum~ I think the tides turned somewhere during the episode 213 line:

"You want to take the bitch down? You just found your inside-man, but it has to be RIGHT. NOW."
*Leads off rebel forces in heroic display and trumpeting cliff-hanger music*

They really are adorable. I've waited all winter to pull them out of the closet again and I think I forgot in fact how cute they really are. *Prances back and forth in her shoes.* :3

What a good weekend~! I haven't been to the waterpark in so long. Most of the Brenna-safe slides were closed sadly, but I got my fill of the tube ride and the wave pool, and took my first go at the toilet bowl ride which practically ripped my swimsuit off. I think I also have a faint case of whiplash from when it rockets you out of the tube. *Rubs sore neck.*

The pub was awesome, for a change we had the nice waitress and not the pissy one that snaps at everyone and denies us chicken wings. She even helped me find a new drink I actually enjoy, a Purple Haze, which is not as tasty as a Porn Star or Candy Apple, but is most definitely something I could drink again; and in this case probably the drink of the night which accounted for my giggliness. And made me play the tambourine. I BLAME THE PURPLE HAZE. Did I mention that I received glorious amounts of chocolate? And adorable Grievous-shaped eggs? And marvelous Taboo (which we most definitely should play on Games Night~)? And amazingly awesome castle-shaped cake? I love having seeing everyone together on nights like that, it fills me with happy~ Pictures will be up on Facebook eventually when ever I get the time to upload them.

Top it all off with a day full of Sailor Moon on Sunday and sister-bonding cuddles and you have yourself a weekend. Next weekend: watching Matt Serra get his UGLY FACE BITCH SLAPPED. Har har. Har har har.

Ooh! OOH! We may be getting half-sized cubicle walls at the office for our desks! To prettify! To decorate! (I am such a nerd and I don't care.)

I am now the proud owner of five complete and uncut (bootleg...shhh!) seasons of Sailor Moon, as well as the three feature length movies~ *Squee!* There was a tense moments on Tuesday when I received the package and ripped it open in excited glee to discover to my dismay that the boxset packaging that they sent me didn't match the pretty ones advertised on the site which I thought I was getting, and for a while I was pretty miffed thinking that they'd sent me the wrong versions. After a couple days of sleuthing out these mystery boxsets on the interweb though and comparing DVD id numbers, it turns out they most likely are the right versions, but the manufacturing company (MAC) changed the design. So they're not as pretty as wanted them to be, but the quality should be there. *Is satisfied.*

We have employed a new maid in our apartment. He's tiny and orange and does a good job at getting those hard-to-reach dust bunnies that breed under our bed; and his name is Roomba, our brand new iRobot vacuum! (Affectionately nicknamed SlaveBot.) We got him on sale at Canadian Tire for a reasonable $220 and I don't think I'm ever going to go back to a hand held vacuum. You just push the Clean button and walk away and he does his happy little beepy sound and goes about cleaning the entire room (carpet and hard floors); and when he's finished he automatically finds his way back to his docking bay again to recharge~ He's adorable! :3

Speaking of awesomeness, I received my tax rebate cheque in the mail this week and it was twice as much as I though it would be! When I filed my taxes it said I would be getting $1600 and the cheque turned out to be for more than $2600; apparently I forgot I had some left over school tuition credit so they tacked that on. There only thing better than knowing that you have a cheque coming in the mail full of money is that cheque arriving and being for even more shiny money~ I always use a small portion of my tax rebates to buy myself a present -- that's what Sailor Moon was this year -- but now that I have this extra thousand dollars I may or may not also go out and buy a new, bigger filing cabinet that I'm in desperate need of, but I'll have to wait to see if I get it for my birthday first or not.

*Gasp!* And I finally finished paying off my $9000 credit line for my car (with help of aforementioned inflated tax rebate!) I am officially DEBT FREE. *Confetti rains down.* *Mastercard proceeds to bombard her mailbox with monthly bills.* D:

While we were out jaunting about town doing errands this morning I bought C.J. some new aquarium plants~ She's very excited about them, I can tell. Her tail has that extra swish and wave that she does when she's excited.

I came home the other day to find a piece of mail for me from my previous employer which turned out to be an accursed T4 slip. It's felt like so long since I worked there that I completely forgot that I would have a 2007 T4 from them, so I didn't even think of it last week when I went and filed my taxes without it, and now I'm irked because I have to go back and redo them and wait even longer for my cheque full of free tax money to arrive in the mail.

I ordered my Sailor Moon DVDs on the wrong damn week. With a 3 - 5 day shipping period they really should be on my doorstep today but today's a holiday so now they're going to be pushed to next week, and not Monday, but Tuesday. Of all the times to have a four-day weekend this was not a prime pick. *Mumble grumble* The post office is not my friend right now. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't still also waiting for the first two English dubbed seasons to download on Bittorrent, but they're taking FOREVER. The progress bar is just sitting there taunting me with it's smug 88.4% completed message.

I'm so hard done by.

For the last week I've become what some people may call a tad obsessed with eBay...and Amazon...and some other online stores of a slightly more seedy reputation. I decided that I was determined to own the entire series' of both Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon, and damn it, when I decide to buy something neither rain nor shine nor upcoming birthdays will stand in my way! CCS was no problem, I've watched the bootleg version before and thought the subs were fine, so I picked a random "Buy Now!" off of the millions on eBay which is now somewhere on it's happy way to my house.

Sailor Moon was a whole other irksome story. I was pretty set on tracking down the officially licensed American copies by ADV and Pioneer...until I learned that both companies had long lost their rights and the official DVDs have been out of print since 2004, and tracking down any rare remaining copies now that won't cost you hundreds of dollars just isn't freaking possible. D: I scowered eBay like a vulture watching copies that I easily could have sniped but they all get raised up to stupidly ridiculous prices by dumb rookie buyers that can't keep their fingers off their bid buttons! *Rage* I posted a "Looking For" ad on the Facebook marketplace and anime forums and had no replies! I found some copies on a random DVD site but it turns out the company is a giant money-stealing fraud group that I can't trust! I managed to track down both the S and Super S seasons for reasonable prices on other sites, but they wouldn't ship to Canada! I was about to find someone in the U.S. that I could ship them to and then suddenly someone else snags both copies away! I have been thwarted at every turn! Fate is against me, so after a week straight of a little flailing and much impatience, I said SCREW IT yesterday and buckled for some bootleg copies.

I'm a little crestfallen about the whole thing and you never really know what kind of quality you're going to get with an import. I'm fairly confident I chose the best bootleg versions that are made for SM; Anime Cartoon are the manufactures of both the Cardcaptor Sakura bootleg I bought and have seen, as well as my Escaflowne import I originally had; and they've more or less been direct rips from the official DVDs so my chances are pretty good that the quality of these will follow suit. *Crosses fingers* I bought them from shopanimedvd.com and while the research I've done on the site didn't say all awesome reviews they did accept PayPal which means if they screw me over I can cancel the transaction easily. So for $245.00, I will soon have all five seasons of Sailor Moon and all three movies. Not a bad deal. I just wish it would hurry up and get here NOW.

I had a meeting down at the bank yesterday and finally have begun an RSP that I really should have started five years ago. :P I'm putting them into a Canadian Dividend account which will give it lots of growth over long term (YAY!) but also means there will most definitely be some fluctuation now and then as well that will most likely make me cry and will take all my willpower not to freak out and take it all out. *Hyperventilates a little. Her father gives her chocolate and tells her to calm the hell down.* Speaking of monies, I'm getting a shiny $1,600 back on my tax return! HUZZZZZUH! I'm using a bit of it to pay off my impulse anime purchases above and then the rest of it's going right into the brand new RSP~ (and will hopefully grow, not shrink...)

Mom and I went out and saw The Other Boleyn Girl the other day, and it was really good; though admittedly I was a little more distracted by the new OMG Sex and the City trailer before it! I'm so freaking excited for that movie! May 30th will come and we shall fancify ourselves up in pretty dresses and shoes and dance off to the theater and have a girly good time~ *Fits of maniacal girlish giggles*

I like just watching all the videos through out this site, it's like one of those crazy sci fi movies where they talk about creating utopia, complete with fancy background music (because obviously all perfect utopias come with inspirational background music.) PRETTYYYYY! XD

So I'm going to get totally PWNED on Friday night when we all play Magic. I'm going to go in there with my noobie green and white deck, and either Lance, Melissa, or Brock -- or all three of them in a riotous gang bang squad -- are going to ass rape me all up and down the street. :x I have to start getting good, fast. Or at the very least, moderately competent at understanding what the cards even say. It turns out Mandi hasn't played either, so she's going to bring her beginner deck to school sometime, and we can hone our newfound Magic skills together maybe. Ooh~ Melissa, maybe sometime you can come for lunch and teach us poor saps how to play~!

I'm so bored. . . Our Business class was cancelled so I've been trying to kill and hour and a half with blog postage and watching Escaflowne, because Chris returned my DVDs to me today so it is conveniently at hand.
