I'm engaged!

Well okay, to be completely honest I've been technically engaged since Sunday when Mason actually asked me, but yesterday we went out and picked my ring and now I'm officially engaged~! I'm so excited! Look at my pretty ring, it's sparkly! Look look look!

Sadly it's a cellphone picture and not great quality, but use your imagination and replace all of the blurry fuzzines with shiny sparkles! (Better pic here from the store website.) I love it, it's different from your old style traditional ring and it's all cute and swirly~ X3 And it actually comes as a set with both the fancy engagement ring part and then the lower simple wedding band half. ARGH but the jewelers called today and told me they can't size it down enough to fit me so they have to order in a custom sized one, so instead of picking it up today I won't get it for four weeks. ;_; Nooooooo, damn you, tiny dainty fingers! Good for piano playing, horrible for rings! The clerk said something about letting me have the original one for the time being though with some sort of temporary "sizing bar" in it, and then when mine comes in I can just swap it.

It was a very strange feeling at first knowing I was engaged. Mason and I agreed not to tell anyone until we'd gotten a ring, so I spent two days almost bursting with news I couldn't tell and trying to hide my computer screen at work as I searched out jewelery stores; paranoid that anyone walking by my desk was probably thinking I was a very sad, desperate girl who spent her time pining away at engagement rings. ^^;

We haven't picked an exact date yet, but we're pretty sure it's going to be spring of 2011 -- maybe April or early May. That gives us a lot of time for planning and all the arrangement for the ceremony. I'm so excited for wedding planning~! *glee!* *Glomps her sweet Mason and promises that she will try her very best to not become a scary bride-zilla like on all of the reality TV wedding shows.* No, seriously, SLAP ME IF I DO. D:

La la la la laaaaa~

If it reaches that point, please hire me as your official bridezilla slapper. It would be like working in a dream.

Fr srs, though, congrats. Am I invited to the wedding? Also for the record, I have one Wedding MC job under my belt. Just sayin.

Of course you're invited to the wedding, Vance puts the uh... "ance" in, um... dance party? *Breaks out into old S Club 7 dance hits*

As for DJ-ing, we're not sure what's happening with that yet. I wouldn't really want you stuck at the music table all night and not be able to really join in the partying, because that would be no fun for you. Do you know of any other DJ contacts though? We shall have to have a discussion, you and I.

OMG I AM SO EXCITED TO GO DRESS SHOPPING!! XD XD

November 27th, 2009 -- 9:20 am

ALSO I ASSUME I GET TO BE IN YOUR WEDDING PARTY. OTHERWISE I WILL CRY TEARS OF SAD.

November 27th, 2009 -- 9:23 am

I AM SO FAR UNABLE TO SPEAK ABOUT YOUR WEDDING WITHOUT USING ALL CAPS. MY EXCITEMENT, IT IS CAPSLOCKY!!

*Falls off chair laughing*

I think dress shopping is going to be my favorite part of the planning~ You and Mom MUST COME WITH!

And no, why would you be in my bridal party, pfft. You are hereby an usher. Ush, usher, ush! AND BY USHER I OBVIOUSLY MEAN MAID OF HONOR, SILLY. I have no idea what my plan is going to be with bridesmaid dresses yet -- if it's nice and cheap, we may just rent; but if we need to buy than I want you guys to be able to get yourselves dresses you'd actually want to wear again. PLANNING SHALL HAVE TO ENSUE.

LOTS AND LOTS OF CAPSLOCKY PLANNING!!!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

I apologize in advance for the complications that will result in attempting to find a dress to fit my busty body type. Brenda has already felt that pain.

If we end up renting and we find you a dress you really like, maybe the store can make busty-type alterations? I've seen pictures of how the bridesmaid dresses are originally the same ones, but have been tailored here and there in the straps and neckline and stuff to suit each woman the best. Again, I'd have to look into see what's involved in all that.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to be the calm reasonable bridesmaid. Also, if you pick ugly dresses for us, I will tell you. Blunt Nickie will not go away because you're oozing for wedding excitement (cause it has for your sister)

Let's start planning! Righ meow!

Blunt Nickie must definitely tell me if the dresses are nice or not! I don't dig that whole "make bridesmaids feel ugly" thing. You guys will all have to help me pick dresses -- to start off, I'll have to find out from each of you which colors you will and won't wear and dress styles you don't mesh with.

November 27th, 2009 -- 9:49 am

Mostly whatever I wear has to have straps. There is not yet a bra made that will accommodate me in something strapless.

Oh my god, be one of those people and put your cat in a dapper little top hat and make him part of the wedding party.

Brenna says:

LOL, I don't think Iroh would stand for being trussed up in kitten-sized formal wear. He'd spaz and knock over a candelabra or something and end up burning our venue down, and you just know we're not getting our deposit back after that.

Call it an act of God and all is well.
