Missing her fish~
C.J. fell ill to a very bad disease called Dropsy early this week and became extremely sick -- she completely stopped eating, her scales began to pinecone and patch in color, and she just hovered still in the corner near the surface of the water. I don't know what caused the disease, but it was very clear she was suffering; and with very little successful treatment options for Dropsy which is usually fatal, I made the decision to painlessly euthanize her yesterday evening by some common and simple directions provided online.
She was a good little betta fish. I was very attached to her, and I wish I could have done more to help her. *Pats empty tank sadly.*
This was a depressing birthday post. I'll make a happier one later. ^^;
*is sad about CJ*
I am sorry to hear about CJ.
I'm sorry but I really need to know how you did it. Did it involve a toilet? A pillow? A frying pan?
Yes, I am horrible, get over it!
Oh and happy birthday!
T_T
You are horrible, and as punishment I don't think I'm allowing you imbibe alcohol at my birthday party. HA HA HA HA HA.
No, it's a humane euthanasia method used for fish which involves putting them to sleep first with clove oil and then killing them in white grain alcohol (I used vodka.)
Wow, that's probably the best euthanasia method I have ever heard of, and I've heard of allot in my time (kind of a hobby, you know).
And for the record, when the time comes, that is how I want to go. You could probably do away with the clove oil though, unless it will get me high.
Willy, I doubt you'll need any helping hand in euthanizing yourself some day with alcohol all by yourself. My only concern is that you won't be terminally ill at all, you'll just be an alcoholic.
*Pat pat.*
My offer still stands.
That's too bad @.@ My fish Iorek free willy'd out of his tank and we found him all dried out on the floor @.@
I filled the betta-filled gap in my heart with a new one :) I recommend Big Al's on the south side, they had some really nice fish when I bought Morte a few weeks ago. He has a red-blue body, red fins and blue tips!
Eek! I heard stories about beta fish jumping out of their tanks. Do you cover yours up now with some sort of lid? That would be so sad to come home to find him dead on the floor... D:
I may get another fish, but not right away. I also need to completely clean out the tank and do whatever I need to do in order to get the infection out, because Dropsy is contagious I think and will kill any fish I put in there right now. >_<
He did have a lid but there was a little hole in the back (not sure why but that's the way the tank is made) and somehow he got through that @.@
