Epiphany-ific? Sure, it's a word now.And enjoying it! Now anyone who knows me at all is aware that I am against all things vegetable. Salads have practically been my arch nemesis for the past twenty odd years of anti-vegi crusade, so this is a big deal for me. Really for the world. I willingly ordered a starter Caesar the other day at Boston Pizza, and today I ordered another salad -- not pasta or any other accompanying entree, just a salad -- today for lunch at the food court. And it has SPRINKLED CHEESE ON IT.
I mean on one hand it's lettuce, which really has no taste whatsoever on its own. It's filler food. Like pretzels. It's not really good tasting by any meaning of the word but you just keep eating it because it fills the void in your mouth. Now on the other hand, there's Caesar salad dressing, which apparently has the power to make ordinarily bland non-taste taste like actual taste. And then you add this crazy sprinkled cheese, and you've got yourself an actual treat. They're light~ They're zingy. They're very tasty. And yay maybe now I won't be doomed to get scurvy! *OM NOM NOM NOM*
You should have seen my reaction when I saw your status on Facebook. I even called Mike over to read it. I was sooo shocked.
I told my Mom and I thought her eyes were going to fall out of her head. It's amazing, I know. Obviously I've been exposed to some weird salad gamma radioactive rays or something.
It may just be a Caesar salad infatuation though...I have yet to try other salads. We shall see, muh ha ha ha...
I am at a total loss for words... Next thing I know, you'll be eating pre-cut pickles... The the whole world will have gone to shit...
